Special Visit to the Itaipu Dam

Service Description

The ITAIPU Special tour, in addition to the external route (which includes stops at two viewpoints and the power plant's external area), includes an extra stop at the top of the dam, 225 meters above sea level – and a visit to the dam's internal area and the powerhouse, where it is possible to observe up close the Penstocks (White Pipes), the Concrete Cathedrals, the Central Control Room, the Generator Unit Gallery, and the Turbine Shaft. Ages 14 and up. (Children under 14 are not allowed entry, even if accompanied by their guardians, as this is an industrial zone). Duration: Approximately 2h30. (Including bus travel, stops, and walking through the industrial area). Available daily, limited availability and times. Included: - Transfers for the visit from hotels in the city center and/or located on the avenue on the way to the Falls; - Guides available in Spanish, English, or Portuguese; (Request when booking) Excluded: - Entrance to Itaipu Illuminated; - Drinks; - Food; - Gratuities; - Eco-Tourism Tax; Notes: - Age: 14 years and older only. - Required: Arrive at the ticket office 30 minutes in advance for registration and visitor photo; Official photo ID; footwear with heel support and no heels or with a minimum height of 3cm and width of 3cm. - We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing. You will be accessing an industrial environment, crossing service walkways, wind ducts, and using stairs and escalators. - No bags, backpacks, or shopping bags are allowed. - We are in a binational security area, therefore, all visitors must pass through the security barrier with an X-ray machine and metal detector portals for verification of belongings; - This tour route may be altered as needed by the Power Plant; - Some hotels in Foz do Iguaçu or Puerto Iguazú are not included in our route; in this case, we will inform you of the nearest hotel as the meeting point for your pick-up. - Documentation for leaving the country is the sole responsibility of the passenger and must be up-to-date, especially if traveling with minors; Children's Policy: Children under 13 years of age cannot participate in this tour. Cancellation Policy: Cancellation is free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure time. Departure Time: From 7:15 AM or 1:00 PM (Time to be confirmed).
